Curriculum Choices at Aberfoyle Park High School
This site outlines the curriculum requirements, the choices and the opportunities students will have while at Aberfoyle Park High School.
Students undertake study within the mandated curriculum frameworks of the Australian Curriculum for Years 8 to Year 10 and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) for Year 11 and Year 12. Ignite students study a compacted Australian Curriculum and begin SACE subjects one year earlier. For more information please go to the APHS Ignite page.
For more details about the Year 8 to 10 Curriculum please visit the Australian Curriculum website.
Year 11 and 12 students study Stage 1 and Stage 2 subjects which are controlled by the SACE Board of South Australia. To assist students and their parents we have developed a facts page with links to the key SACE Information.
Making the best curriculum choices is an important activity for all students. These questions may help your son or daughter to make the best choices:
- What subjects will best suit their future needs?
- What must they do to meet Australian Curriculum and SACE requirements?
- What do they enjoy most? What are they good at?
- What skills do they need to develop?
- Is there variety in what they want to do? (ie learning indoors, outdoors, practical, theoretical, physical, intellectual …)
