RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND: Successful completion of Year 10 Spanish
COURSE CONTENT:
By the end of year 11 students should be able to communicate in Spanish about topics such as movies, music, health, daily life and issues in Spanish-Speaking countries. They should also be able to conjugate a variety of tenses in both regular and irregular forms. Cultural aspects are woven throughout the course including developing empathy about issues in Spanish-Speaking countries. Opportunities for cultural excursions at a Senior level include: cooking Spanish food, attending the Spanish film festival, viewing a Spanish exhibition at the Art Gallery or a visit to the Central Market.
Topics covered at a Stage 1 level are: Music, Movie Reviews, Health, Daily Life and Issues in Spanish- Speaking Communities.
Students at this level may have the opportunity to participate in a Language Study Tour of Spain pending a successful application and any travel restrictions.
ASSESSMENT:
Students will be assessed throughout the year according to the performance standards outlined in SACE Stage 1. These tasks test the four macro skills of writing, reading, speaking and listening.
