Running is a strong feature and aside from athletics, ranges from running and fitness groups to 100km and Ekiden relays as well as cross country events.

A wide range of sports is offered and is determined each year by student interest.  Knockout competitions as well as “come and try” days are held for sports including football, netball, soccer, rugby, cricket and tennis.

Volleyball is offered as a focus sport with specialized coaches.  Recreational and high level competitive options are available including Beach Volleyball.

Rugby League is a feature of our sports program involving high level coaching and competition at school and club level. The program also focuses on sports nutrition, leadership skills and high performance fitness levels.  Aberfoyle Park High School has established significant and sustained success at State and National rugby competitions, holding the title of State Champions for five years.  Students from across Australia and New Zealand have been part of the program.  Selected students can gain credit by taking Rugby as a subject in senior school.

Our sports program is supported through our community school links to the Happy Valley Sports facilities which give us access to quality ovals, soccer pitches, tennis courts, bowling greens and even a BMX track.
